MICROSIVE
STUDIO // EST 2022

We started Microsive because we got tired of watching software take 18 months to ship and then not work.

Seven people. One studio. We design, build, and ship products that earn their keep — and we do it in weeks, not quarters.

01 / The team

The seven of us.

Rahul M.

Founder · Engineering

Wrote his first line of code at 11. Has shipped software in 4 industries. Insists on small teams, on purpose.

Unexpected fact

Once debugged a production outage from a moving train.

Aanya K.

Design Lead

Came from a print background. Still believes in negative space, kerning, and the case for serif italics.

Unexpected fact

Owns 11 vintage typewriters. Uses them.

Vikram S.

Senior Engineer

Backend specialist. Writes Postgres queries the way some people write poetry. Reviewed every PR for 3 years.

Unexpected fact

Has read the SQLite source code cover to cover.

Priyanka R.

Automation Lead

Spent five years in ops before crossing over. Her workflows have collectively saved clients ~14,000 hours.

Unexpected fact

Has automated her own grocery list.

Karan D.

Mobile Engineer

Native iOS, native Android, and React Native — fluent in all three. Knows when each one is the right answer.

Unexpected fact

Reads App Store rejection emails for fun.

Meera J.

Product Manager

Translates founder ambition into Friday demos. Keeps the pace honest. Asks the question everyone is avoiding.

Unexpected fact

Runs ultramarathons. Says it helps with patience.

Arjun T.

Junior Engineer

Joined as our first hire from outside the founding circle. Already shipped two case studies in his first year.

Unexpected fact

Self-taught. We tested him for 6 hours. He passed.

02 / How it started

We started Microsive because we got tired of waiting.

In 2022, three of us were freelancing for the same Bangalore-based startup. Different roles, no shared org chart. We kept ending up on the same calls, solving each other's problems, drafting each other's docs.

It became obvious — to us and to the client — that we worked better as a unit than as three separate freelancers. We registered Microsive that quarter. The client became our first retainer. They're still a client.

We've grown to seven people in three years. We could be twenty. We don't want to be twenty. Small is the strategy.

03 / Where we are

Jaipur.

Our studio is in Jaipur, in a 1960s building that someone tried to make a co-working space and gave up halfway. We kept the half they finished. The other half is a whiteboard the size of a wall.

Half the team works from Jaipur most days. The other half is remote — Bangalore, Pune, Goa. We meet in person every six weeks, no exceptions.

04 / What we believe

Five things, non-negotiable.

01

Small on purpose.

We could scale headcount. We don't want to. A team of seven can know every line of code and every client by name. Above 15, that breaks.

02

Boring, proven tools.

Excitement at 3am is not a feature. We pick stacks because they work, not because they trend.

03

Friday demos.

Every project, every week. The first one is always rough. The fifth one is always shippable. The discipline matters more than the artifact.

04

Your code, your repo, day one.

We push to your GitHub org from commit zero. No 'we'll hand it over at the end.' The end is a fiction.

05

Honest before useful.

Sometimes the right answer is 'don't build this.' We say so. We've talked clients out of more projects than we've taken on.
